Songs in Commercials

From a thread on MetaFilter, songs in commercials are becoming a phenomenon all their own — Cadillac is even becoming popular with some younger buyers due to their use of a Zepplin song in an ad.

There’re also websites that help people figure out the artists that performed songs heard in commercials. At first, I was happy to discover SongTitle.info as there’s one song from a GMC Yukon commercial that I’m still trying to track down (the commercial featured the hulking beasts driving in choreographed circles, synchronized-swimming style).

SongTitle has an entry for “Our Day Will Come” by Ruby & The Romantics (with a link to a sound sample) for the Yukon. But, after listening, I ruled that one out. I don’t hold it against SongTitle, but I suppose they just don’t have the details for that particular commercial.

Even Volkswagen has a CD of collected songs from its commercials. Some of the more obvious ones — such as Mr. Roboto — are on there, but I may just get it to discover some new techno artists (good techo is just so hard to find these days).

  3. I think that is the song I am looking for. The Song on the cingular wireless comercial with all of the people standing around a party then on a baseball field? The first words are “My Heart is Glowing”? and I cant find it ethier. I am pretty dure it is the same song. Sounds 80’s to me and I know most softrock 80’s bands so suprised I dont know who sang this. Any help woult be nice.

    My earlier post about the animal planet commercial it is the commercial with a frog and it is the sequel to david bowies song magor tom and is sang by peter shciling.

    Help on the cingular wireless comercial would be nice ty!

  5. Does anyone know what the song is in the newest cingular commercial with HBO mobile. They show like lots of empty abandoned places and they advertise for cingular video with clips from the sopranos and sex in the city etc. PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY WANT THAT SONG!!!

  8. I am looking for a rock song that was played alot a year or 2 ago and in the chorus the guy keeps singing……Cant You See….Cant You See….Cant You See….

    That should be the lyrics if I remember correctly. It sounds like a rock song with a cool music tune and a fast pased song. Sounds like 90’s but they played it alot in 2005 around the beggining of the year.

    I am also looking for a 90’s song and I dont know the lyrics or who sang it :( but it had a nice tune sort of like, You are my All in All (Christian Song) you know a song with music that sounds like that and has a music backround sortof like Pachabell’s Cannon in D and it was played around the end of the 90’s I think but that is all I can say. A Woman Sang this. If anyone knows the song I am talking about please tell me. Thanks alot.

    I think the “Can’t You See” songs is by the Marshall Tucker Band. It is on their first album and the song is called “Can’t You See”.

  16. The song I downloaded on limewire by the marshall tucker band was country this song was fast paced rock song mabey I got the words wrong but he sings something like that in the chorus 4 times.

  18. The Song “Friends Forver” by Vitamin C is a good song but not the one I am looking for. The Song I am looking for sounded more like the christian song “You are My all in all” but had a cool backround like pachabells Cannon in D. Thanksfor the help tho I like the song just not what I was looking for.

  21. Does anyone know the song that plays in the new commercial for Rebecca Romanji’s new TV show? It’s just a fun sound and someone in the background keeps singing “WOO-HOO”. I’ve also heard it on the radio and in Starbucks. HELP!

    The song with “WOO HOO” in it……is that the same song off the Vonage comercial for like phone service? if so the song was also played in Kill Bill Vol1 and I bilieve they got the actualy band to sing it. If that is the song you are looking for they named the band in the movie credits but I dont know the name sorry. If that is not the song I have no idea.

You know when HBO would put together footage from shows and play a song behind them. “It’s not tv, it’s HBO” thing, well there was this one and it went sort of like, “Everyone’s saying different things to me.   34. Ok, does anyone know the name of the song played in the Nascar commercial. It is sort of a techno sounding song. There are scenes from Nevada, Las Vegas,(Hoover Dam) St. Louis and Phoenix, AZ. I have been trying to figure out the song. I also remember this song being in a Sex in the City episode where Carrie and Berger were going to an opening I think for Smith. Please Please Help.

If anybody knows the theme song from the Suzuki Swift Commercial where the people are just driving around in the car listening to music ( a wicked bass tune ) When a guy comes into the scene from the back of the car and tells the people they can actually do things like go to work or go shopping and stuff rather than just driving around doing nothing, He gets out of the car and they continue driving and the Music starts again, no words just an instrumental. GOD I NEED THIS SONG!!!!!!!!

  49. the songs from two Beyer Ads are driving me crazy. the Beyer Arthritist ad is accompanied by a very melodic cello kind of a classical. the BEYER Aspirin is accompanied by a pop tune, more a 60’s type. would really appreciate if anyone knows the names or how to get them. thanks
