Photo.net is a photography website with all kinds of information, from forums to how-to articles and photo galleries. In the galleries, anyone can upload photos or comment on the photos of others.
In particular, I enjoy their photo-of-the-week section. Some of them, like this winter scene are almost surreal, while others wouldn’t be out of place on a poster in a museum-store.
Most recently, I was struck by this photo-of-the-week of a couple on a train platform. The blur of the background as the couple remains in focus looks almost like a computer-manipulated effect; but, it apparently wasn’t.
nice link. i finally found a reason to use a thermal dye printer. print the good pics up and frame them.
That picture of the couple on the platform is really sweet. The guy basically had to be at the station with a tripod, going to every incoming train and waiting; the window of time on that (with the train pulling away) is pretty short. Either that or he got really lucky, having a tripod set up and pointed in the right direction at the right time with the right shutter speed set.
The golf course one is nice, but not brilliant. Nevertheless it’ll take a long time before I can take a picture like that because my slide pictures thus far have sucked and there is no way to take that picture on print film.
