Is there a protocol for asking people out at the gym? Or, is there no means of achieving that while maintaining etiquette? There’s this cute girl that often uses the treadmills around the time I do, and she’s about my age (25-26, or so). Hmm.

What, the gym at The Village isn’t good enough for you? I can’t speak for etiquite at a gym, but i wouldn’t think it’s the best place to try to pick up someone. Then again, I’ve spent way more time watching the Simpsons than I have “working out”.
Wow there are FEMALES at your gym? Heh. Obviously at ours I never have faced this prob (well that and the whole being married thing.) I say ask her out, mate! Why not? All she can do is say no.
Well, it’s not that my Bally’s is overflowing with beautiful women, but there are some cuties here and there ;).
If I were to ask her out (which seems to be sensible, going on the consensus here), I still need to decide my strategy — whether I go for the more-generic “Would you like to go out with me sometime?” or the more-specific “Would you like to join me for dinner on Friday?” :-/.
All of this begs the question: Have you ever actually *talked* to this girl? If not, having some sort of conversation might increase your chances of getting some sort of positive response. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve never gone on a date with a total stranger just because he asked nicely.
Oh, and get a haircut. ;)
this is turning out to be like a ‘choose your own adventure’ book. turn to page 87 to see alex strike up a conversation about x. turn to page 42 to see alex strike up a conversation about food. ;)
