Annika Sörenstam, an excellent golfer in her own right, has accepted an invitation to play in the PGA’s Colonial tournament in May. This isn’t the first time that a women has played in a PGA Tour event, but the last time was in 1945.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this. But, I think it’ll be interesting, and I look forward to seeing how it turns out. As long as they play by the same rules, I welcome women in traditionally men’s sports.
Does she have to tee off from the same spot?
I don’t have a problem with women participating in men’s sports and vice-versa, as long as they play by the same rules.
i wanna see them play golf according to the i love lucy rules.
Wheww……what a load off my mind. I am so glad that we finaly made it over the hurdle of getting a woman to play the men’s pro golf tour. It certainly took us long enough. I am so excited about this that I cannot wait until the US Womens Open application comes out so I can sign up. You see, now that the playing field is level and not based on sex, I can enter this, right? I love equality. Actually, to not be sarcastic, we need to do away with gender tours in golf. We should just have “TOUR”. If you shoot good, on the same golf course (tees, pins, etc.) you win money. If you cant compete, you get a job as a secretary or short order cook, or house keeper. Catch my drift.
It’s vety niiiiiiice!!!
