AIM has been acting a little odd lately, perhaps for the past couple days. Each time I sign on it says that my buddy list is gone:
Your buddy list and buddy icon are not available currently, but they have not been lost. Please try again later.
I’m not terribly concerned about my buddy list as I expect it to return eventually. But it sure is a nuisance in the meantime. Anyone else run into this?

Uhhh yeah im getting that error that summer has this sucks i tried re-installing aim but no matter what it has an error when ever i try to message or recieve a message it doesent work Lame any suggestions?

Every time I write in my AIM profile, it doesn’t change! It always says “No Information Provided.” Can someone help me out?

like you can still use aim but just click on send chat invatation instead on just talking to them through a normal im screen so go to their name and then rightclick then click on send chat invatation and that should work l8r im out if that doesnt work leave me a comment here http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=you_thought_i_was_what or email me at joll5555@yahoo.com
i think this is just my computer.. but every time im on aim, i can sign on fine, but if i dont touch the mouse or keyboard for over a couple minutes, aim automaticly signs me off and on in a quick second.. its really starting to bug me because i cant get my messages when im away. it really bugs my friends too because sometimes they dont get messages that i send them. does this happen to anyone else?
I am sorry to bug you but my aim will not let me send an instant message to anyone so could you please tell me what to do. I have already tried a new screen name and I have also tried to uninstall it the reinstall it and that did not work and every time I sign on to send someone and instant message it kicks me off so please tell me what to do because I take my tutor lessons by instant messages and it is one of the best thing that I have ever had but now it is messing it and I really need it.please email me back very soon as soon as you get a chance thank you very much

i recently started having this problem with the buddy list not being available for about a week now and i HATE it!! i’ve been using AIM Express for now, but it definitely doesn’t cut it. all i can say it restoring your computer and reinstalling AIM has not helped. also.. my boyfriend’s screen name did not work as well on my computer, but at his house it worked fine!! so i think it is something on our computers.. please email me if anyone ever figures it out (tarapickholtz@juno.com). hey guys!! anyone having problems with the buddy list not showing up.. i just fixed mine!! i went into the preferences, then under sign on/off, then connections and i changed the port number form 5190 to 5191 and now it works!! give it a try.. maybe it’ll work for you guys too :) good luck!!
why is it that my aim will let me sign on..but when i click on freinds sn’s it kicks me off!! i hate it!! and i want my aim back! and i dont wanna use express, ive used it before and hated it!! and ive tried installing it and reinstalling it and i tried getting new sn and it doesnt work.. no matter what sn it wont let me im anyone! even when ppl IM me it kicks me off!! pleaaase help me!! i REALLY think yall can be the ones to get my aim fixed!!

My Aim wont even connect anymore it just says connecting for about 15 minutes or until i click sumthing else then the sign in box goes white and it says this program is not responding any help would be much appreciated…
Everytime I try IMing someone or someone tries IMing me, a box comes up saying that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can’t figure out what’s wrong…can someone PLEASE help me!!! i reinstalled AIM many times but that does not help.
I been trying to open my Aim and it works but i cant sent to them the info or talk to them, the Aim keep shut me out so i have to reagain and still same so u think something is wrong ? and i did get my computer cleaning everything seems fine to me so but one thing it is Aim. I would never like to use Aim if it cause alot of problems.. and also i did update more than 4 times and still same so i hope people will change some info about Aim..

Hey I found a solution. I had the problems with loading, then not being able to IM anyone. But I fixed it. I downloaded Gaim.

Go to this site and download it. It works just like AIM, and even oraganizes the windows better. You have to create a name and passowrd original to your AIM name and you will not lose any information…GOOD LUCK!!!

This is really annoying. I haven’t been able to pull up my buddy list or buddy icon for 2 weeks now when I sign on. I am getting the same error message as everyone else. It says the buddy list and buddy icon are not currently available at this time. Someone fix it, PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I finally got my screen name signed on and my buddy list loaded and I went to sign off today and now it won’t load my buddy list again. HELP ME SOMEONE PLEASE!!
i just downloaded aim…well i was on it for about an hour i would say,i was talking to my friends and i exed our convo out,but when i went to go IM her again i clicked her screen name on my buddy list & it just simply wont let me IM her…when i click her screen name nothing happens..i click one,twice,three times & it wont let me IM anyone…when i first click someones screen name it lets me IM them,then when i go to do it again it wont let me..& when they IM me i hear the sound of an incoming IM but no instant message pops up…im a little confused because it was fine before.Well im thinking i should delete it & download it again.Please get back to me.Thank you

my aim has been like this for a month…whenever i try to sign on it says THE AIM SERVICE CAN’T BE REACHED. my internet connection is fine and everything else works but aim hasnt worked at all and im so mad..ive been using aim express and it totally sucks. PLEASE HELP ME
aim isnt working a all for me it just says log on failed. try again. and i try to sign in for mail, it cant find the mail page, i try to sign into aol explorer, still cant sign in. this is really ticking me off, i wish they would fix this its been goin on fora month for me and i need to check for an IMPORTANT email that i was supposed to reply to 3 weeks ago.
i went to sign on and i typed my password and it said my password was wrong and i know i typed it in right.. but then i sign on to another screename and it worked perfectley fine, so i went to forgot password and it sent me it so i typed it in and it said aim service cannot be reached??

i think it may be a virus or something but idk how i got it and no one else on my buddylist did.
if it is a VIRUS…then who did we all get it from and how were they able to spread it to soo many people sooooo fast?! just curious..have any of you talked to “SMARTERCHILD” lately? i think that he’s the one who started it or is spreading it. or both.
the aim button won’t download onto my computer and it is making me so mad.

I apearently had the same problem with the aim service can’t be reached thing for a day and found a way to fix it in my case. what you want to do is uninstall aim then go to C:\Program Files and delete the aim folder. Next what you need to do is hit the start button then go to run then type in regedit. then go to HKEY_local_machine then software then right click the america Online folder and hit delete. Then reinstall aim and it should run fine…hope this helps

i figured it out!
go to setup, preferences, sign on/off, & at the bottom there are four little check boxes so all you gotta do is uncheck the reconnect automaticlly. i hope this works.

I’m having a problem with AIM right now as well…When I try to sign on to the application it stops at “Verfiying Name and Password”, and after about 40 seconds the following message appears “The AIM Service is temporarily Unavaliable”. I’ve tried both aim express and meebo.com, but no luck. I’ve also tried various screen names of mine. If this is happening to anyone else please post so I know I’m not alone =). Thanks
I just had the same problem 10 min ago and I decided to come online to find an explanation. I couldn’t find one but I tried again and it worked so the error is telling the truth and everything isnt lost. Just give it time.
